Bombong Tiga Peach Crumble

Bombong Tiga peach crumble:
Serves 17 hungry people

For the fruit:
Tinned peaches (about 3 cans)
Sugar if you have not run out in your rations
For the crumble:
Something mildy resembling margarine
Flour
Quaker instant oats
Sugar (go easy because you will run out of rations otherwise and will have 17 hungry people to deal with)

Instructions:

Open the cans. Drain most of the juice (or drink it!) and pour the peaches into 3 mess tins.

To make the crumble, pour lots of flour and oats into a mess tin. Add about half a cup of sugar and 2 or 3 spoonfuls of margarine. Run with your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs, and do add lots more oats if it’s not crumbly enough!

Next, sprinkle the crumble over the peaches and put into the oven. I have no idea what temperature it was because we used an army style oven which went straight over the fire.

Something like 40 minutes later…

Viola! Yummy yummy in my tummy :)

This was served along with the bread and butter pudding, and I think it went down pretty well…

So well that I think even a mess tin was devoured in the process…

To create the authentic recipe would probably be quite difficult, so I’ll let you off with the use of an actual oven (if you must).

Lesson learned today: Have fun baking wherever you are in the world and with whatever equipment you are given!
