Super Mario cake pops

Before I go on, I don't want to take the credit and say I made these, because I didn't. Two of my friends saw my first cake pops post and the link to Bakerella I put up, and wanted to try their own version of her Mario ones. I was lucky enough to be given a few after they made them (thank you!), and I thought they were awesome and cutesome and yummy...some, so I took some photos and put them up on here to share :)

In this post I just wanted to thank all of you so much for wishing my luck on my exams (I'll definitely need it!), and I know there's only so many times you can say it, so you don't need to wish me again :) Also, I apologise for not being able to catch up with your blogs very much lately, I promise I'll get back on it in just over a week! (Eek!)

So I'll just let Mario sum up how I'm feeling right now:

"Mamma Mia!"

...I wish I could collect power up mushrooms like him too, except ones that make my brain bigger.

This is the note that came the cake pops came when I received them from my friends. I would also like to point out that these are the kinds of compromise that we, as students, and therefore have nowhere near fully equipped kitchens have to make (the ones who have ovens are the lucky ones...or even hobs come to think of it). I'm just glad I saw this before I ate it!

p.s. if you're looking to make them, I think what went into this was ginger cake balls, white chocolate icing and red food colouring. And eyeliner, but that's optional :)

  2. Ha! I love how you used eye liner for the eyes. I like making desserts with lots of detail, but near the end of the decorating process, I'm ready to call it quits. Your cake pops look tasty!
